I did a lot of research before deciding to upgrade to a higher grade binocular.
I chose the Eagle Ranger 8x42 and am very glad I did. The clarity of the view is amazing. I use them for both birdwatching and butterflying. They adapt well to the near and far. Most ordinary binos do not allow for close up butterfly observation. This one does a great job. Also, on a night field trip for bats, I lost the adjustable eye piece in a swamp. I sent it to the Eagle company and they put a new one on for free and shipped it back in five days. I was astonished to get such customer service.

These are the best binoculars I have seen in this price range. They have great clarity & light. They are super easy to use for a beginner like myself. I am using them for birding.
