We have 3 pair of Nikon binoculars and the Monarch 5 are my favorite. They are brighter and sharper than the Action 10x50 and the Prostaff ATB 10x25.
For bird watching in the field my wife uses the Prostaff (because they're small and light. we're both lugging cameras with long lenses.) and I use the Monarchs. The Action binoculars are relegated to observing the back 40 through the kitchen windows. The others are good binoculars. The Monarch 5's are great.

After years of frustration watching birds and taking my glasses off and on, I can use these binoculars while wearing glasses. And they do a great job--easy to set for yourself and quick to focus.

Very good binoculars, easy on the eyes because of the wide field of view, long eye relief and short minimum focusing distance. The 8x magnification is bright enough to identify birds perched on trees and wires. But the best part of it is the price I paid for the quality at par with the more expensive binos.
